As an example, a client contacted us advising he had 30,000 automotive component parts in need of sorting. Through a miscommunication with an overseas vendor, various component sub-assembly parts had been mixed in master cartons and rejected by his customer. In jeopardy of causing a big 3 automaker’s line shutdown and corresponding penalties they looked to LaGROU for a solution. Absent of any part number and appearing nearly identical, there were subtle dimensional differences not visible to the untrained eye. We trained our employees’ eyes with planograms, equipped them with locally fabricated go/no-go gauges for dimensional checks and white gloves for fingerprint free handling. We inspected, sorted and averted the crisis. Further, we provided daily status reports of completion and quantity and mixed/non-conforming parts. We bundled our trucking, warehousing and inspection services into a flexible operation that met all the delivery schedules on a JIT basis.
